4 tips to sell your home in Winter
Turn winter to your advantage
Winter is probably not the perfect time to sell your home. But, with a few tricks, you can make your home much more attractive. The days become shorter and darker, and you can turn that to your advantage. Here are our tips!
1. Clear the path to the front door
Before a scheduled showing, be sure to clear the path leading to the main door. If it has snowed, clear the snow and sprinkle salt, so that the buyers can easily reach the front door. Do you have outdoor lighting? Turn it on, to create a more warm feel. If you do not have exterior lighting, you can always place a candle in front of the front door.
2. Avoid photos of a Christmas tree or any other decoration
When you want to sell your house, it is better to set aside anything that is not neutral. This unnecessarily diverts attention and may even disturb some people. Can’t give up on your Christmas tree? Then choose a tree that is not too big and does not occupy too much space.
3. Use room lighting in rooms
Nothing is more pleasant than a good ambient lighting to give a space the place it deserves. A well-placed lighting makes the room not only more spacious, but also more warm.
4. Place winter flowers on the garden or on the terrace
Winter flowers like Hellebore or violets bring color and atmosphere in the garden or on the terrace. Also sweep away leaves.
TIP: It’s been a while that your house is for sale? Take new pictures, especially if you have applied the tips above. Winter is over and your house is still not sold? Do not forget to change your photos again.
